Interview with Rox Sarafolean: “Healthy skin is primarily skin without impurities, but we must also consider that diet, exercise, and lifestyle all play a role”
Certainly, now that you've reached this page, you are someone concerned about your health and skin. That's why we organized an interview with Rox Sarafolean. It's normal and even recommended to ask yourself as many questions as possible and to research the habits or things that should be included in your routine, as well as those that should be excluded. Because we want to gradually provide you with correct answers, we decided to ask a content creator from the beauty/skin care industry. We spoke with Rox Sarafolean about what skin care means, and she was happy to share some of her knowledge with us. Here's what she told us:
- How long have you been in the beauty/skin care industry?
The beauty industry is constantly changing. New products appear at lightning speed, and with them come people passionate about beauty, makeup, and skincare. I am among them. Initially, I created fashoniac.com in 2015, which is a fashion blog. Gradually, however, I had to research makeup and beauty products at the request of fashion enthusiasts who wanted a beautiful outfit to be accompanied by a perfect look from all points of view. And here I am referring to the complexion, skin, makeup, and hair styling.
- Have you ever discovered myths about skin care during your experience that turned out to be false?
It's been more than 4 years since I started researching skin care and testing various products, so I could then make objective recommendations to my followers. Of course, like many other people, I was skeptical at first. I wanted to debunk some myths I grew up with and some I heard later. For example, the fact that you can replace moisturizers with yogurt, or that lemon applied to the skin provides enough vitamin C. It can be used as an astringent and tonic, but to be effective, other prepared elements are needed so that the skin retains the substances meant to restore its radiance or fresh appearance.
- Do you have your own beauty ritual? What are the steps?
Over time, I've created a skin care ritual and I make no exceptions. No matter how tired I am, I follow it strictly every day. My skin care ritual always includes moisturizer, Vitamin C serum, colloidal gold serum, regularly applied masks, niacinamide, and collagen. I have certain steps I follow regarding the structure, I am careful about how I combine the elements and the chemical processes that may occur. I give my skin enough time between applications.
- Which step do you consider the most important?
The most important step in the skin care routine, I believe, is makeup removal. Healthy skin is primarily free of impurities, but we must consider that diet, exercise, and lifestyle play a significant role, and these we can influence. On the other hand, what we cannot influence are external factors. However, we can control their effects if we choose the right products for each skin type and, of course, with a protection factor.
- What cosmetic/care product do you never lack in your bag?
There are so many products that do their job well, but I always carry with me, for a boost of vitality and skin energization, the Vitamin C serum and hydrating lip balm.
- What advice do you have for those who want beautiful skin?
What I consider truly important is to pay attention to the signals our skin sends. Through the skin, we can identify many problems. I recommend visiting a dermatologist at least once a year. It's true that it takes some time to remedy certain neglected aspects until now, but the effects will be visible, and our skin will thank us. Healthy skin is luminous, radiant skin. It takes so little of our time that if we consider how much importance and energy we give to other less important aspects of our lives, we will certainly re-establish our priorities. Try this makeup removing balm too.
